Terms and Conditions
Effective 12 September 2026. These are the promises every brother and staff member makes at the door.
1. Why this room exists
I built The Steadfast Lounge for Christian men walking through same sex attraction and sexual brokenness. We bring that walk before the Lord and trusted brothers with honesty, prayer and accountability. We want redemption, healing and growth. Ephesians chapter 6, verses 11 through 18 calls us to stand firm, stay alert and keep praying for one another. That is how we will carry ourselves in this room.
2. Membership is personal and for adults
Membership is for men aged 18 or older. Each brother must use his own account, give accurate required information, answer the membership questions himself, accept the current agreement and keep his account secure. We keep a record of who created each invitation, but an invitation does not guarantee entry or permanent access. Do not create an account for another person, impersonate anyone or let another person use your account.
3. This is not a dating or sexual space
Do not use this room to find dates, sexual partners, hookups, explicit exchanges or private relationships outside the lounge. We do not allow sexual solicitation, grooming, exploitation, explicit sexual material, harassment, threats or unlawful material. This boundary may mean the room grows more slowly. The boundary remains.
4. No contact information under any circumstances
Do not post, request, hint at, disguise or exchange anything that could let another brother contact or identify you outside the lounge. This includes email addresses, phone numbers, websites, links, account names, social media usernames, messaging usernames, numbers written as words, disguised addresses, location instructions or invitations to Reddit, Snapchat, WhatsApp, iMessage, Telegram, Signal, Discord, Kik, Instagram or another outside service. This rule applies to profiles, membership answers, posts, comments, journals, devos, chats, prayer requests, plans, goals, images and every other place a brother can see what you share.
5. What happens when the contact check stops something
Content is checked before it is published and again when it is saved. If the check finds possible contact information or prohibited solicitation, the content is not published. The writer may remove the unsafe part and try again. A blocked original may be kept privately for staff review and audit purposes, but it is never made visible to members unchanged.
6. Privacy between brothers
A generated handle is the name other brothers see first. A brother decides whether to reveal his own name and city on his profile. He chooses each reader for his journal and can remove that access. Entries in My Devos Journal remain private. A prayer request only goes to the audience chosen when it is submitted. Never copy, photograph, quote, download or retell another brother’s private words outside the lounge.
7. Staff access is limited by role
Administrators can see required personal details for membership, safety, and account work. Moderators cannot see those details unless an administrator grants that permission. Authorized staff may open reported or reasonably suspected posts, chats, journals, devos, prayer requests, and accounts when needed for safety, enforcement, or investigation. Sensitive reads and staff actions are recorded in staff history. Ordinary members do not see that internal record.
8. Moderation and account action
Authorized staff may stop publication, review a blocked draft, flag or remove content, restore content, close chats, respond to reports, restrict an account, suspend membership, or end access. Decisions are made to protect the purpose and boundaries of the room. A staff member must not use private access out of curiosity or for personal advantage.
9. Your words and the permission needed to run the lounge
You keep ownership of what you write. You give The Steadfast Lounge permission to store, display, screen, and process it only as needed to provide, secure, and moderate the community. Deleted or removed material may remain for a limited time in backups, blocked-draft records, safety records, or audit history when operationally or legally necessary.
10. Care has limits
The Steadfast Lounge offers peer fellowship; it is not therapy, medical care, crisis care, or a substitute for qualified pastoral or professional help. In an emergency, contact local emergency services.
11. Agreement, changes and availability
By checking the agreement box, you confirm that you are at least 18 and accept this version of the Terms, our privacy practices and our rule against contact details. Important changes may require you to accept the Terms again. The lounge may change or be unavailable, and I cannot promise uninterrupted access. Qualified legal counsel should review these practical Terms before the lounge opens to the public.
