I will not ask you to trust a slogan. These are the checks, permissions and records that are running now. They reduce risk. They cannot make the internet or another person infallible.
A man must confirm that he is 18 or older before he can sign in. If he chooses under 18, the door closes. We do not knowingly admit minors.
Each brother enters with his own email and password or his own Google account. His profile does not appear in the directory until he answers the membership questions himself.
Before a profile is created, the man must accept the current Terms and safety rules. The lounge stores the agreement version and the date accepted. A changed agreement can require acceptance again.
Every man gives his first and last name, email, city, age, relationship status, a real photo and the same written answers about faith, purpose, service, healing, redeemed sexuality and testimony. Other brothers see his handle unless he chooses to reveal his name.
Every member invitation is tied to the brother who created it. Every staff invitation is tied to one email and one role. A used, expired or incomplete link does not open the door.
New profiles appear for staff review. Authorized staff can restrict or suspend an account, remove or restore words and close a chat. The name of the staff member, the action and the time are recorded.
Only an active member can read the lounge. When staff suspend an account, the database itself stops serving him other brothers' posts, comments, reactions, profiles and weekly commitments. He can still see his own writing, nothing more. This is enforced at the data layer, not by hiding buttons.
Other brothers see a generated handle by default. A member can choose to reveal his own name and city on his profile and can reverse that choice.
A member can see his own personal details. Administrators can see them for membership and safety work. A moderator cannot see them unless an administrator grants that permission, and the permission can be revoked.
A journal is private from the start. Its author chooses each reader and can remove that access. An entry in My Devos Journal stays there and is not published in the Devos Lounge.
The brother chooses whether his request stays with staff or can be shared with the lounge. A staff response goes to his private inbox. It is not posted for other brothers.
When staff open a journal, private devo entry, or prayer request through the private review page, the reader, time, item type, and item opened are written into staff history.
We look for emails, phone numbers, links, account names, numbers written as words, disguised addresses such as “name at gmail,” social usernames and outside apps including Reddit, Snapchat, WhatsApp, iMessage, Telegram, Signal, Discord, Kik and Instagram. The same rule covers profiles, membership answers, posts, comments, journals, devos, room chats, prayer requests, reading plans, goals and private messages. We do not publish a blocked draft. The brother keeps his words so he can remove the contact detail and try again.
There is no way to exchange contact details or move a conversation to another app. Every brother also promises not to carry another brother’s private words outside the lounge.
“Sign out of every session” in the menu ends the account’s active sessions across devices. We encourage every brother to use it when he is finished, especially on a shared device.
Not a dating space. Not a sexual space. Not therapy, medical care, or emergency support.
