Privacy Policy

Effective 12 September 2026. This is a practical first draft for legal review before the lounge opens to the public.

1. What we collect

We collect your email address and the information needed to sign you in, or the basic account details returned when you use Google. We also hold your profile answers, chosen handle, photo, posts, prayer requests, testimonies, journal entries, chat messages, reactions, invitations you create, mentor requests and your recorded agreement to the Terms with the date and version.

2. Why we hold it

To create your account, show your chosen identity to other members, deliver the Community Lounge, Prayer Lounge, Declaration of God's Faithfulness, Journals and 1:1 Moderated Fellowship, keep the community safe, respond to reports, and meet our legal obligations.

3. Anonymity by default

Your handle is shown unless you choose to reveal your real name. Your email address is never shown to other members. Only invited readers and The Steadfast Lounge staff can see a private journal entry.

4. How we check what is written

We check every place you can write before your words are published. We block contact details and sexual solicitation. A blocked draft may be held for private staff review, but we never publish the original blocked words.

5. Safety review by staff

Moderators and administrators may open reported or reasonably suspected chats, journals, posts, and accounts when needed for safety, policy enforcement, or investigation. Every sensitive view and action is recorded internally. Staff review is never shown to ordinary members.

6. Who else sees your information

Our hosting and database provider stores the data on our behalf. Mentor session requests are shared with the mentor you asked to meet. We do not sell your information and we do not use it for advertising.

7. How long we keep it

While your account is active, and afterwards only as long as needed for safety records, audit history, legal obligations, or short-lived backups.

8. Your choices

You can edit your profile, delete your own posts and journal entries, revoke journal readers, and ask us to close your account. Removed material may remain briefly in backups or safety records.

9. Security and age

Entry is by invitation and each part of the lounge has rules about who can see it. The Steadfast Lounge is only for men aged 18 or older. We do not knowingly hold information about anyone younger.

10. Contact and changes

Questions about this policy can be raised with the administrators through the community. Material changes may require a new acceptance when you next sign in.
